We are the Bassett Family Jonah, Donna, Jonah Jr and our dog Brutus We would love to share our family with yours, families get so busy sometimes that we all forget to keep in touch so this will be a good way for everyone to be a part of our lives without being right here.

After the Haircut

Jonah jr was so good, he did not cry a bit. There was a little squirming but he was such a big boy. The salon gave me a certificate and saved his hair for me, since it was his very first haircut. Jonah jr looks like a little man.

Before the haircut

Jonah and I have been trying to decide if we should get Jonah jrs hair cut. I have been stalling it because I don't want to change anything about him, I think he looks adorable all the time. It was just recently I went to panera bread to eat lunch and someone told me I had a very cute little girl. I was quite upset, he is not a girl I told her. Since then I decided it was time to do the haircut.

Jonah jrs first State Fair

Last Weekend Jonah had a day off work so we to the Maryland state fair. Jonah Jr took his first pony ride, he rode his first carnival ride all by himself and he ate his first funnel cake. It was a great day for the whole family, we enjoyed seeing all the livestock. There were pig races, cows, horses, goats and so much more. Jonah was having a feild day looking at all the animals. We went on the swings, slides, and the carousel. I am so glad Big Jonah was able to be a part of this special day, It was so nice having him home with us.

Our trip to the Atlanta Aquarium

While we were down visiting my folks in Georgia, we took a trip to the very new Atlanta Aquarium. It was amazing, Jonah eric and We were just amazed by all the different fish and spectacular tanks of whales, sea lions and penguins. My friend Lia and her two adorable children took us down to Atlanta to see the Aquarium. My favorite part was going through the tunnel which was completely clear you could see all the fish, sharks and sting rays. It was amazing. I would definitely recommend a trip there if you are ever in the area.

In Memory of Brutus (Bru Bru)

March 2003-September 7, 2006
Brutus you will forever be in our hearts
We miss you so much!
On September 7, 2006 we lost our beloved Brutus. I recently sent Bru to Georgia to be with me while I was down for vacation, bru loves my parents and my parents adore bru. Bru loved being down there he had 2 acres to run on and my parents spoiled him rotten. Last Thursday my mom, Jonah jr, Brutus and my parents 2 dogs went to the mailbox together. Brutus and chester my parents dog were not on a leash they were running together. Well my mom got to the mailbox picked got the mail, at that time Jonah jr slipped out of my mothers hands and crossed the street. My mother immediately chased after him and caught him as they were fixing to cross the street my mother heard a motorcycle, she decided to stay put until the motorcycle passed. When the motorcycle came upon them brutus came out from behind them barking at the motorcycle, he was standing still on the road about 4 feet from my mom and my son. The motorcycle going close to 70 mph ran over brutus , the motorcycle snapped brutus neck immediately he was gone at the moment of impact. He did not suffer thank the Lord. The driver on the other hand is suffering very much he slid on his bike 85 feet after hitting brutus and has several broken bones and abrasions He even told the police he meant to hit Brutus but was intending to keep going. My heart is completely broken for most people know how attatched I was to my bru bru. He was my first baby and a member of this family. He protected me and my son and was a wonderful best friend. I will miss him and keep his memory forever in my heart.
